Better Cotton Initiative

Tay Hsin uses and promotes BCI cotton since 2015 due to the impact of the cotton industry on the environment. The objective of the Better Cotton Initiative is to improve mainstream awareness of environmental impact, with a focus on encouraging sustainable planting and production practices by farmers. At Tay Hsin, approximately 90 - 95% of cotton is sourced with BCI certificates.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
  • ORGANIZATION
    Corporate social responsibility department (SEA) has been set up full-time within the company to promote social responsibility and implement CSR system. Tay Hsin has set up a sound system based on eight aspects: employees, customers, suppliers, the government, nonprofit organizations, local communities, the environment and health, and consumers.
  • MANAGEMENT
    Completed ISO14001 Environmental Management System Certification and OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification and set up an "EHS Committee" to conduct cross-departmental social responsibility work. Establish regular communication mechanism, organize regularly scheduled meetings and internal audits, and conducts external third-party audits. Tay Hsin has taken social responsibility into day-to-day operation and management, constantly improves various positions’ job responsibilities, management requirements and code of conduct. Tay Hsin ensures that its operations meet the requirements of safety, efficiency, greenness and harmony and ensures that the company fulfills its social responsibilities in a comprehensive and complete manner and maintains close contact with all stakeholders to reach consensus.
  • INDICATOR SYSTEM
    Tay Hsin formulates key works based on social responsibility; future work is always planned to be compatible both with changes to laws and regulations and to new social responsibility modules. We are committed to strengthening communication between related parties, setting out clear standards, and improving our social responsibility evaluation system.
  • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
    Tay Hsin sets key projects for each social responsibility work module every year. The results so far have been tremendous, from both internal and external audit perspectives. The SEA regularly reviews and evaluates social responsibility work performance. Assessment includes laws and regulations, satisfaction of relevant parties, and continuous improvement of internal audits and external audits. Tay Hsin adheres to results driven step-by-step continuous improvement, and works to constantly expand social responsibility management capabilities.
  • INFORMATION DISCLOSURE MANAGEMENT
    Tay Hsin has established social responsibility information disclosure mechanisms and contingency plans. From an oversight perspective, Tay Hsin regularly provides relevant parties with necessary information, uploads environmental protection information to government platforms, and provides third-party audit reports to customer-specified systems. At Tay Hsin, employee representative meetings, suggestion boxes, and 24-hour employee care hotline have been established to ensure Tay Hsin receives timely and accurate information from stakeholders to create harmonious relationship with related parties.
  • ROLE MANAGEMENT
    Tay Hsin highly values social responsibility and focuses on "green" and "smart" sustainable developments. A complete training system has been established to clearly define the roles of employees as well as the management team in these initiatives. The SEA Department has implemented the social responsibility code of conduct, ensuring that national policies and regulations are strictly followed. It has won several awards such as "Excellent Enterprise," "Economic Contribution Award", "Grade Three Enterprise of Safety Production", "Advanced Enterprise", "Nanhai Charity Award", "Caring Enterprise" and other honorary titles for the healthy and sustainable development of enterprises.
